Pittsburgh’s 52nd annual Light Up Night is taking place tomorrow. Market Square is already full of materials as they are setting up for the event. This is Pittsburgh’s ode to the kickoff of the holiday season.
Throughout the day though, there will be a schedule of lighting starting at 12 p.m. at City-County Building, which will be the lighting of the tree by Mayor Ravenstahl. The end of lighting will be at 7:15 p.m. in Market Square.
The actual event starts at 5 p.m. According to the Pittsburgh Downtown website, there will be three stages for performances in Market Square, the Clemente Bridge and EQT Plaza. There will be fireworks from the Warhol Bridge around 9:30 p.m.
First Holiday Saturday will take place the next day including a horse-drawn carriage parade at 5 p.m., trolley rides, Santa Claus, a mascot skate, and more.
